Country Meets Reggae In Florida Georgia Line & Ziggy Marley’s Island Tune

Country goes reggae in Florida Georgia Line’s “Life is a Honeymoon.” FGL’s Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley teamed up with Bob Marley’s son Ziggy to take fans on a trip to the islands in their laid back tune.

While “Life is a Honeymoon” is their most blatant reggae-laden song, this certainly isn’t their first time playing around with the sounds of the islands. The country duo borrowed the bouncy rhythmic pattern found in reggae for “Party People” dating all the way back to their Here’s to the Good Times album and even name-dropped Ziggy’s famed reggae father in “Sun Daze” found on Anything Goes.

Now happily married men, Hubbard and Kelley sing of making everyday a honeymoon in their laid-back island jam. “Life is a honeymoon, we’re gonna live it…Let love keep us lifting, my dear,” sings Hubbard to the smooth roll of percussion. Marley comes in at the bridge describing his love as his “morning sun” and his  “moonlit sky” before Hubbard returns with the chorus.

Florida Georgia Line is up for “Vocal Duo of the Year” at the 2016 CMA Awards airing live from Nashville Nov.2 on ABC.
