Country Singer Gives Taylor Swift A Run For Her Money With Cover Of Popstar’s Latest Hit
on Aug 28, 2017
Taylor Swift‘s latest single, “Look What You Made Me Do,” has been dominating not only radio waves but the internet at large. While the popstar may no longer release country songs herself, country singer Kalie Shorr transformed Swift’s latest hit into an intoxicating country song for fans feeling deprived of her twangy tunes.
The country singer replaced the ominous beat for the melancholy sound of her acoustic guitar backed by her stunning vocals. Shorr maintained the vehement tone of Swift’s original, additionally intertwining a sample of Kanye West’s – whom is rumored to be the inspiration behind Swift’s rage-fueled single – “Heartless” in the midst.
“But I got smarter, I got harder in the nick of time / Honey, I rose up from the dead / I do it all the time / I got a list of names, and yours is in red, underlined / I check it once, then I check it twice / Ooh, look what you made me do / Look what you made me do / Look what you made me do / Look what you just made me do,” sings Shorr while strumming her acoustic guitar.
Shorr is one of Nashville’s brightest rising stars, recently debuting her breakthrough single “Fight Like a Girl” on country radio.
“Look What You Made Me Do” is the lead single off Swift’s forthcoming sixth album, Reputation, set for release November 10.
