The young country singer revealed the terrifying experience that has been haunting her for nearly two weeks…
“I woke up to a stinging sensation on my face,” She wrote on Facebook. “I looked and in my right hand was a dead spider. Somehow while I was sleeping, a spider had bit me and I had killed it….The stinging was awful and I knew it had to be poisonous.”
Country musician and a former finalist on The Voice, Meghan Linsey is a well known singer in country music and has continued touring since placing as a finalist during the 2015 season.
Now, the young singer has experienced something the majority of Americans live in fear of: a brutal and horrifying spider bite.
Linsey explains that upon awakening with the spider in her hand and stinging sensation on her face, she immediately placed it inside a plastic bag and headed straight for the nearest urgent care center.
“Over the course of the last 9 days, I have experienced the most insane symptoms. From excruciating nerve pain in my face, muscle spasms, full body rash, extreme swelling… etc. It has really been rough.”
The doctors confirmed that she had been bitten by the second most poisonous species of spider in the United States: a brown recluse. While the experience is traumatizing, painful, and lengthy, Linsey says she has taken something valuable away from all this.
“I know I’m not completely out of the woods on this , but I am so incredibly grateful for my health and I will never take it for granted again. Your thoughts and prayers are much appreciated. I will be getting back in the studio this week, to work on the new record! I can’t wait to finish it. And I can’t wait to get back on the road…”
We are so glad that she didn’t suffer any lasting damage or worse symptoms/effects from the bite. She’s on the road to recovery and we are praying it’s a speedy process for this rising star.
