Fans were in stitches over the hysterical reference to country outlaw Willie Nelson, profoundly known for his marijuana usage and promotion of the natural herb. Musgraves cleverly made a point to recall the event on April 20, often referred to as 4/20. The day has become a symbol for marijuana, snagging its notorious name for the code-term 4-20 that identifies the consumption or usage of cannabis.

Musgraves and Nelson have become friends throughout the course of the country gal’s career, as the two have partaken in countless performances and even share a song titled “Are You Sure”. Seeing that Musgraves has referenced the use of pot in one of her hits “Follow Your Arrow”, fans are not at all surprised by the singer’s friendship with Nelson, embracing the beauty for her confidence and upfront personality that screams, “Take it or leave it!”
