Country Star Opens Up About The Harsh Reality Of Parenting

On Tuesday evening (April 17), country singer Aaron Watson‘s wife, Kim, took to Instagram to rave about her husband being a good father.

As the coach of their son Jack’s baseball team, the two get to bond in a way that not everyone gets to.

Accompanying a photo of Aaron and Jack walking to the pitcher’s mound, Kim wrote, “One day he’ll really know just how fortunate he is to have had his daddy as a coach in baseball, but also in life. And then, Lord willing, the boy will grow up to lead his own son(s) both on and off the field, and ultimately, lead them to Jesus.”

She continued, “As I tell our kids often, they are so lucky to have the Daddy that they do, as so many long for that type of love, and all children certainly deserve to be loved and loved well.”

Her Instagram photo was flooded with comments from friends, family, and fans praising Aaron for going above and beyond to be a good father. Everyone was agreeing with Kim’s post – except Aaron, that is.

In his own post, Aaron wrote, “[Kim] just made a post about me being a good dad and honestly I don’t feel like that right now.

He continued saying that at his son’s baseball game, he was extremely tough on him. He described Jack as a natural “go-getter,” but was not seeing that from him during the game. As frustrated as Aaron was with his son, Jack was even harder on himself.

He was in tears after the game and I felt about one inch tall,” Aaron wrote.

After they got home, the two had a serious talk about the game and Jack, on his own free will, said that he wanted to practice and work on getting better on their sandlot field. Jack then apologized for not giving it 100% and thanked Aaron for working with him.

Aaron ended the post in a very profound way, saying, “Today the heart of a child reminded me that love is patient, love is kind.”
