Country Star Surprising Mom With ACM Invite After Dad’s Passing Will Melt Your Heart

One mother was given a heartwarming surprise after her husband’s death, becoming overwhelmed with emotion as her country music son surprised her with a new gown and invitation to be his date to the upcoming ACM Awards. 

Josh Abbott, frontman of the Josh Abbott Band, has endured a heartbreaking last few weeks as his father not only suffered a tragic heart attack, but subsequently passed away weeks later. The family was stricken with grief as the singer not only lost his hero, but his mother lost the love of her life.

However, the singer lifted his mother’s spirits when a surprise shopping trip that prompted Abbott to invite his mother to join him at the ACMs. Abbott recorded the moment, opening his mother/son shopping experience by asking, “Why are we here?” Under the impression that her son simply had a prescheduled meeting that he dragged her along to, Abbott’s mother was thoroughly confused when her son admitted that the reason for their visit was to pick out a fancy gown for this deserving beauty! 

“You’ll be wearing it this coming sunday at the ACMs on the red carpet with me as my date,” Abbott coyly revealed. His mother, covering her face with her hands, was elated by the news! Emotional comments poured in on the singer’s upload as fans expressed their happiness for the deserving family that has recently endured more than their fair share of heartache.
