Country music bombshell Dolly Parton is no stranger to the emotional numbers, seeing that her iconic hit “Jolene”, one of heartbreak and infidelity, continues to be favorite amongst fans of various ages.

However, Parton brought the mood up a few notches when she gave one hell of a performance to Jeannie C. Riley‘s original hit “Harper Valley PTA”.

The song, a striking melody about a mother who takes it upon herself to address the unfair treatment she received from the local PTA (Parent Teacher Association), was given the utmost level of sass by Parton, who carried the shocking message with her lovely and iconic voice.

While this performance is packed with attitude, Parton has earned her title as the sweetheart of country music. She created an incredible foundation called Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, which provides children a free book every month until they reach kindergarten.

Check out Parton’s take on “Harper Valley PTA” below.
