Dolly Parton Reveals True Feelings About Pop Star Adele Dressing Up As Her

Grammy-winning pop singer Adele made headlines on January 30 for dressing up as the “hero of [her] life.”

Donning a big, blonde wig, heavy makeup, long nails, and a getup fit for a country queen, the “Someone Like You” singer put her best foot forward to look like Dolly Parton.

She shared a photo of herself on Twitter, saying, “The effortless queen of song, Dolly Parton! We love you! We wish We [sic] could possess an ounce of your ability. You were the hero of our night! A hero of my life. I’ll always love you.”

The tweet got over 65,000 likes and over 7,000 retweets – and the attention of Dolly Parton herself. In a video posted to her Twitter, the country legend was dumbfounded that Adele even knew who she was!  

“Adele… likes me?!” she said with a laugh. “I was knocked out. I was so honored. I was so flattered. I loved your outfit. I thought that was great. I think I had an outfit just like it back in the day. In fact, I thought that was a picture of me back in the day.”

She continued, “But I was really touched with what you said. I was really honored that you would even know me that well or like my music, so I just wanted to thank you and say you’re making me look good.”

Parton then joked about wanting some of Adele’s fanbase, and ending the video saying she will dress like Adele one day! Watch Dolly’s full response in the video below.
