It was an incredible moment of unity when country music legends Vince Gill and Dolly Parton combined their talents for a jaw-dropping performance of Parton’s hit “I Will Always Love You.” Dressed to the nines and, the two talents graced the 1995 CMA Awards with a remarkable performance that has gone down in the history books of country music.

Taking to a dimly lit stage, Gill initiated the somber performance while sporting a dashing black suit and the perfect amount of emotion.
“If I should stay/ I would only be in your way/ So I’ll go but I know/ I’ll think of you every step of the way,” he passionately sang. As he flawlessly wrapped up the song’s chilling chorus, Parton made her way beside him and greeted him with the lyrics, “Bittersweet memories/ That is all I’m taking with me/ So goodbye/ Please don’t cry/ We both know I’m not what you, you need.”
The two icons continued to serenade the audience into head over heels affection, humbly accepting their uproarious applause and basking in their fans’ excitement. Parton wrote the phenomenal ballad back in 1973, when it reached number one on the charts and gained commercial success.
