Drop Everything & Listen To Morgane Stapleton Sing The Hit Song She Wrote For Carrie Underwood

Chris Stapleton‘s life wasn’t the only one that changed following his breakout performance at the 2015 CMA Awards. It also changed the life of his wife, Morgane, who had always been happy to stay out of the spotlight before.

But after Chris found success with his debut solo album, Traveller, Morgane realized that she wanted to be by his side on stage.

“I don’t remember the moment,” she told The New York Times, “but I remember feeling like ‘I can’t miss this anymore.’

Morgane has been singing on Chris’ recordings for years, but before that she was actually a solo artist herself. Then Morgane Hayes, she was signed to the same label as Chris at the time, Arista Nashville.

While signed to Arista, Morgane recorded three albums’ worth of music, but none of the material was ever released officially. Luckily for us, Morgane shared a few songs on her MySpace account, and those clips still survive today.

One of the clips features Morgane singing a song that country fans know well by now. Titled “Don’t Forget to Remember Me,” the song was made famous when Carrie Underwood released it as the fourth single off of her debut album.

Morgane served as one of the song’s three co-writers. It ended up becoming a big hit, and reached the second spot on the Hot Country Songs chart.

If you love Carrie’s version of the song, just wait until you hear Morgane sing it. We’re so used to hearing Morgane sing with Chris, so we were blown away by the sound of her voice when we heard her singing “Don’t Forget to Remember Me.”

Morgane’s voice is soft and sweet with a sense of country charm. It’s the perfect fit for “Don’t Forget to Remember Me,” which has a naturally sentimental feeling.

After all this time, we’re glad that Morgane’s solo work is finally getting some recognition. Now, we’re happy to share her version of “Don’t Forget to Remember Me” with you. Just click play on the clip below to give it a listen.

Once you’re done, tune in to Carrie’s version of the song to hear the differences. Which one do you like best? We can’t decide between the two!
