Duo Brings Smooth-As-Honey Harmonies To Acoustic ‘Sweet Home Alabama’ Cover

It’s always an eye-opening experience to hear one of your favorite songs done in a different way. Such is certainly the case for Lynyrd Skynyrd fans, as the sea of Skynyrd covers is practically endless. 

Since Skynyrd has been such an influential band, singers and musicians of all backgrounds end up turning to their songs. One of the go-to tracks is “Sweet Home Alabama,” which is arguably the band’s most well-known song.

Because of its popularity, Skynyrd fans have probably heard “Sweet Home Alabama” done in every way imaginable. As a result, many of the “Sweet Home Alabama” covers tend to blend together.

But we recently came across one cover that has the potential to stand out from the pack. Recorded by a Denver-based duo named Lark & Lion, this rendition of the song features an acoustic arrangement and smooth-as-honey harmonies.

The gal in the group takes the lead on most of the song, while the man provides backing vocals. He also plays acoustic guitar, and that’s the only instrument that accompanies the duo as they sing.

This unplugged approach allows you to focus more on Lark & Lion’s voices, and they’re quite impressive. The combined sound that results from their harmonies is as pleasing as can be.
