Flashback To When Sadie Robertson Foxtrotted With DWTS’ Latest Champion

Just Jared

Season 24 of Dancing With The Stars just wrapped up, with NFL player Rashad Jennings and his pro partner Emma Slater winning the coveted mirrorball trophy.

Our personal favorite DWTS contestant, Sadie Robertson, competed back on Season 20 when she was just 16 years old. Having no previous dance experience, she did extremely well and placed second in the competition behind Fresh Prince of Bel-Air actor Alfonso Ribeiro.

During each season, one week of competition is called “Trio Week”, where the celebrity and their pro partner are joined by another professional dancer. On their season, the teams were allowed to choose their trio partner and when the dancer Sadie and Mark wanted got picked up by another team, they decided to do something no one has ever done before.

They asked Emma Slater to join them, which was the first time ever a female pro joined a celebrity pro for the trio dance. Their foxtrot was set to the tune of Frankie Valli’s “Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You”.

Fun fact: Mark Ballas went on to play Frankie Valli in the Broadway musical Jersey Boys in 2016.

Dressed in elegant gowns and a dashing tuxedo, Robertson, Slater, and Ballas told a cute love story of how Robertson lights up a room so much that Ballas can’t take his eyes off of her.

Watch their impeccable foxtrot performance below.
