As Garth Brooks‘ youngest daughter and Trisha Yearwood‘s stepdaughter, Allie Brooks grew up surrounded by music. Naturally, she developed a deep appreciation for country music, especially the classics.
But Allie’s talent as a singer is something she didn’t have to be taught. It was something she was born with, and now she’s showing off that talent to the world.
Allie has her own Facebook page on which she posts various cover videos and some original material. She has been generating a lot of attention lately, and once you hear her sing a beloved Keith Whitley hit, then you’ll understand why.
It turns out that Allie’s favorite song of all time is none other than Keith’s “Don’t Close Your Eyes.” She decided in November 2015 that it was finally time for her to cover the tune, writing, “This is my ultimate favorite song and I hope I do it justice. RIP Keith Whitley.”
We’d say that Allie had no need to worry, because she ended up delivering a performance that Keith would have been proud to hear. Her soft, angelic voice was the perfect fit for the tune, and she sang it beautifully.
A song is always more enjoyable to listen to when you can feel the performer’s connection to it. Allie certainly doesn’t disappoint in that regard, since her passion for the song came through clearly in her voice as she sang.
