George Strait Delivers Boot Scootin’ Tribute To Brooks & Dunn At Their ‘Last Rodeo’

It was a heartbreaking day for the country music world when the iconic parents of the boot stompin’ genre publicly called it quits and left their millions of children crushed. Although that public divorce on August 10, 2009 would separate the duo known as Brooks And Dunn, fans and fellow artists weren’t letting them leave without a ‘bang‘.

So, how do you honor one of the most groundbreaking duos in the history of country music? Well, the country music family took a stab at it back in 2010 when AMC encouraged various country music artist to perform some of the duo’s most memorable hits in what they called “Brooks And Dunn– The Last Rodeo”. However, to put on a show for two impeccable legends, it’s imperative to have an artist just as legendary to send them on their way into retirement. Who better for the job than George Strait?

Strait took stage for an upbeat performance of the duo’s possibly most memorable hit “Boot Scoot Boogie”. Not only does the star-studded crowd participate in building the energy, but Kix Brooks personally takes the tunes away from the sidelines with his trusty harmonica, giving this once in a lifetime performance the best of the best!

While Strait was not the only artist paying his respects to the duo, it was his one-of-a-kind performance that rendered this moment the highlight of the night.

What a night! Check out the performance clip below.
