Country music legend George Strait was the man of the hour during the televised George Strait: ACM Artist of the Year All Star Concert, giving an opportunity to a variety of country singers to pay tribute to the music veteran with performances of his biggest hits.

Amidst the numerous performers starstruck by the “King of Country,” one young girl stood out above the rest, She kicked off her tribute by revealing to the crowd that Strait had previously given her key advice for handling stage fright.

Now a pop superstar, Taylor Swift is a well-known performer and lived out every country girl’s dream by singing for one of the most handsome and talented men in country music.

Swift began to explain to the audience that she was 16 years old when she toured with the King of Country Music, sharing an experience that sent the crowd into laughter.

With that, she kicked off her performance of her “favorite” Strait song, “Run.” Her voice was angelic and her face was brimming with emotion as her pure vocals carried the song’s wondrous lyrics.

As the camera panned to Strait, it was clear that he was beaming with pride.
