One Talented Youngster
There are so many kids with incredible talents, and one particular little girl at the Colgate Country Showdown in 2009 is one of them.
This little girl took to the stage to cover Randy Travis‘ “I Told You So,” and the result is absolutely amazing.
“I Told You So” was originally written and recorded by Travis and was released in 1983 on his album Live at the Nashville Place.
The song was later re-released in 1988 on his album Always & Forever.
The song reached the number one spot on both the U.S. and Canadian RPM Singles charts.
A Second Version Came Years Later
Carrie Underwood released her version of the song in 2007 on her album Carnival Ride. She then re-recorded the song with Travis in 2009, and their duet peaked at the number two spot on the U.S. country charts.
The little girl in the video below had some big shoes to fill, that’s for sure! Wearing a sparkly black top and a pair of blue jeans, she didn’t seem the slightest bit shy as she started her performance.
Besides having an angelic voice, the little girl also has a vibrant stage presence. She smiles and points at the audience with confidence throughout her performance.
“I Told You So” isn’t the only song this little girl has covered. Underwood seems to be her favorite artist, since she has also covered her song “Temporary Home.”
With her beautiful voice and charming personality, we wouldn’t be surprised if this little girl made it big in the country music world someday.
If that happens, then she can always look at anyone who ever doubted her and say “I told you so.”
