Grace VanderWaal Brings Crowd To Their Feet With Triumphant Return To ‘AGT’

The Season 11 champion of America’s Got Talent has returned home.

Performing on the stage where she made history by becoming the youngest champion of the fan favorite television show, Grace VanderWaal proved once again why she earned that honor.

Over the past year she has been extremely busy releasing her debut EP, Perfectly Imperfect, and traveling around the world to perform at and attend many different events, including the Teen Choice Awards, where she took home the Choice Next Big Thing Award, and the Radio Disney Music Awards, where she was voted Best New Artist.

She is currently working on a full length album, set for release in late 2017, and is going to kick off her first tour in November 2017. With all this success, VanderWaal will never forget the show that made her a household name, which is why she performed at the first live results show of the twelfth season.

Singing her infectious tune “Moonlight”, VanderWaal strummed her ukulele while being surrounded by a beautiful scenery of trees and a gorgeous moon. Although the song has a very light-hearted feel, it is an extremely mature song for a 13-year-old.

“The story is someone going through depression and seeing the way they’re changing and that fake altered personality,” she shared in an Instagram video, thanking her fans for their supportive response. “A lot of people go through depression and if you know someone please talk to them and try and reach out.”

This performance proves that she has truly come a long way since her Golden Buzzer-worthy first audition last year. Watch her perform “Moonlight” below.
