There’s no mistaking Johnny Cash‘s voice for anyone else’s. His deep baritone voice brought us hit after hit, including one of his signature songs, “Ring of Fire.”

But there’s one young man whose voice sounds so much like Johnny’s that you’d swear he’s “The Man in Black” in another body. Vince Mira’s voice often drew comparisons to Johnny, and even caught the attention of his son, John Carter Cash. In fact, John Carter was so blown away by Vince’s voice that he helped produce his first record for him.

As you would expect, Vince is a natural at country and rock and roll music, with his catalog consisting of many of Johnny’s songs. Vince’s likeness to Johnny also caught the attention of talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, who invited him on her show in 2007 when he was only 15 years old.

Vince explained to Ellen that he had always been singing, but that he actually started out singing Spanish music. He said that although he tried to sing Johnny’s songs, he just didn’t have the deep voice to pull them off. But once he hit 13, Vince said he woke up one day and suddenly had a new baritone voice, the perfect fit for Johnny’s classic songs.

Everyone was anxious to hear exactly what Vince was talking about, so he grabbed his guitar and started singing “Ring of Fire.” The crowd was stunned when Vince opened his mouth to sing, because it was like Johnny was the one standing right there in front of them.

If you hit “play” on this video and look away, you’ll swear it’s Johnny singing. Go ahead, hear it for yourself!

No wonder Ellen, John Carter, and so many others have been captivated by Vince’s talent. With a voice like that, he’s undoubtably got a bright future ahead of him.
