Indy Feek Wishes Her Big Sister A ‘Happy Birthday’ In The Sweetest Way Imaginable

Joey + Rory / Facebook

When Joey Martin married Rory Feek, she instantly stepped into the role as a stepmother to his two daughters, Heidi and Hopie. Before long, Joey developed a close relationship with the two girls, and regarded them as her own.

Joey never had plans to have a baby, but she eventually changed her mind. In February 2014, she and Rory welcomed another daughter, Indiana, or “Indy” for short.

Indy, who has Down Syndrome, was the light of her mama’s world. Joey devoted herself to caring for her little girl, and intended to teach her from home.

But those plans changed when Joey was diagnosed with cancer. During her entire battle, she could always count on the support offered by Rory, Heidi, and Hopie. And she could always count on Indy to give her a reason to smile.

After Joey passed away, Heidi and Hopie stepped up to help their father care for Indy. It’s clear from the photos and videos they share that all three sisters share a great love for each other.

Hopie celebrated her birthday on Wednesday (September 13), and Indy had the sweetest birthday wish to send to her. Rory shared a video of her birthday message, and it’s one of the cutest things we’ve ever seen.

Rory, who remained behind the camera, encouraged Indy to wish her big sister a happy birthday. She enthusiastically kept saying “happy birthday” over and over again, but hesitated when it came to saying Hopie’s name

With Rory’s help, Indy finally wished Hopie a complete birthday message, using her name and all. She then told her sister that she loved her, and flashed a bright smile at the camera.

You can tune in below to watch Indy’s adorable birthday message to her big sister. We’re sure Hopie loved it!
