‘I’ve Been In Love With You For 10 Years’ – Voice Contestant Tells Coach

After not making the cut the season prior, Voice contestant Nolan Neal wins a unanimous four chair turnaround proving that anyone can overcome adversity through perseverance.

After winning an overwhelming amount of approval from the coaches with a riveting cover of Elton John’s “Tiny Dancer” (a song recently covered by Tim McGraw), Neal reveals that he performed for them the year prior, telling Voice coach Adam Levine directly, “You said if I came back and did a different song and picked you, we’d win the show.”

“I don’t know what happened between this season and last season,” says Levine. “But you’re gonna be the first guy who went home last season and who won this season.”

Neal may have come back with the intention of picking Levine but he makes it clear that he is open to working with other coaches, a certain female Voice coach in particular. Once Alicia Keys gives her pitch as to why the contestant should abandon Levine in favor of her, a love-struck Neal turns brights red and beams, “I just talked to Alicia Keys.”

Blake Shelton quickly jumps on the attack, stating the contestant needs to pick a more experienced coach whether it be himself of Levine. In a clear struggle between what his heart wants and what he knows is the right choice, Neal is forced to make a difficult decision.

“I’m just trying to take all this in here,” says the contestant. “I’ve been in love with you for ten years [gesturing to Alicia]…But I have to pick Adam.”
