Jesse Keith Whitley performed a beautifully haunting dedication to his mother with “Tell Lorrie I Love Her” on stage at one of his shows. Jesse, son of country legend Keith Whitley invited his mother, Lorrie Morgan, to join him on stage for a cry-worthy serenade.

“No you’re not singing, you’re sitting here and enjoying this,” says Jesse to his mother. “This ones for my mom, but I’m going to dedicate it to her from my dad.”

As Jesse sings the lyrics his father wrote for herTell Lorie I love her, tell Lorrie I need her, tell her everything would be okay if I could just see her you can sense a strong emotional response from Morgan.

The audience erupted into applause after Jesse called for them to “give it up for her” before the two exchange a meaningful embrace.

Despite Keith’s untimely death at age 34, his legacy lives on both through his son and his fourth studio album, I Wonder Do You Think Of Me, which was released posthumously.

Lorrie recorded her voice alongside Keith’s and released it as a duet which went on to win a CMA award for Best Vocal Collaboration.
