Joe Diffie knew how to sing a Christmas song, and one of his best is “Leroy The redneck Reindeer.”

Although the holidays tend to be filled with humbling songs of white winters and beautiful scenery, one Christmas favorite was given the redneck treatment for a twist that’ll have you in a fit of laughter! Country singer Joe Diffie did the honors of introducing us to Santa’s newest edition, “Leroy The Redneck Reindeer,” a lovable deer that saves the day with a little help from his trusty pick up truck!

“Leroy The Redneck Reindeer’s” lyrics are infectious.

Diffie sings, “Rudolph was under the weather/ He had to call in sick/ So he got on the horn with his cousin Leroy/ Who lived out in the sticks,” as the vivid animation showcases a hard at work reindeer fixin’ up a truck outside his trailer. He continues to delve into the song singing, “He said Santa’s really countin’ on me/ And I hate to pass the buck/ Leroy said ‘Hey I’m on my way’/ And he jumped in his pickup truck.”

As Leroy pulls into the North Pole, the other reindeer begin to snicker at the sight of a deer in overalls, skeptical of his help! “Like it or not, Leroy is in charge/ And he’s gonna be leading you,” Santa explains.

Strapping the sleigh full of gifts to Leroy’s truck, Santa and the reindeer set off on a night that would change their outlook on the deer. Soon enough, even the skeptics were dancing with the redneck as they had finally embraced Leroy as one of their own!

This Christmas classic has resonated with audiences of all ages, even kids!
