The legendary Johnny Cash sure liked to keep it all in the family! On his ABC variety show, The Johnny Cash Show, where he hosted guests including Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Jerry Reed, Merle Haggard, and many more, its regulars consisted of his wife, June Carter Cash and her family’s band, The Carter Family.

Every show would begin with his signature introduction, “Hello, I’m Johnny Cash” followed by an opening number from him, June, The Carter Family and the other series regulars, Carl Perkins, The Statler Brothers, and The Tennessee Three.

In this particular episode, Cash, The Carter Sisters, and The Statler Brothers opened the show with a chilling cover of the classic gospel song “Will The Circle Be Unbroken”.

The talented singers kicked off the song together, harmonizing and sounding similar to a full gospel choir. Maybelle Carter sang the first verse, and made us remember why she is considered a country legend!

Her daughters, Anita, Helen and June, took lead vocals on the second verse, delivering a fantastic three-part harmony that you’d think could only be heard at the gates of Heaven.

Watch the incredible performance below.
