Perhaps one of country music’s most popular crooners, heartthrob Josh Turner gave an acoustic performance to one of his newly released singles, captivating the hearts of swooning country girls worldwide.
“Hometown Girl” is an incredibly romantic ballad expressing a man’s desire for a down to earth, small town gal who, regardless of leaving her home, isn’t about to let her upbringing leave her system and diminish her values! It just so happens that this specific love interest is a neighbor in which the singer spent his life growing up beside. He romantically sings, “I need a pretty little homegrown hometown girl/ With a ribbon tying back those waterfall curls/ I’ve been looking all over, all over the world/ For a pretty little homegrown hometown girl.”
Listeners were bombarded with an abrupt rush of butterflies as Turner confessed, “There’s a lot of pretty girls out there to me/ But there’s nothing like the one right across the street.” This southern gentleman clearly has an exceptional way with words! However, he’s a happily married man, leaving us women to continue our search for the perfect man elsewhere.
The single was released in May of 2016, making up a portion of Turner’s highly anticipated album Deep South, which is available for preorder.
