Just A Few Months Before Their Wedding, Reed Robertson’s Fiancé Reveals She Feels ‘Pressure’

Jase and Missy Robertson have a busy few months ahead of them. Their eldest son, Reed, is getting married to his high school sweetheart, Brighton this fall. If it’s anything like John Luke and Mary Kate’s wedding, we know there is a lot of work that needs to be done. 

Reed and Brighton got engaged during a family trip to New York City. Reed had her point to a far off building for a photo and when she turned back around, he was on one knee holding a ring.

Luckily for us, the Duck Dynasty cameras caught it all and it was featured on a recent episode of the A&E show.

They have yet to reveal a date, but Missy Robertson did disclose, in a blog, that the young couple is getting married this fall.

Like her future mother-in-law, Brighton has gained quite the following after being introduced on Duck Dynasty. So much so, that she, too, started a blog after many fans continued to ask her so many questions.

In her latest blog post, she reveals that she feels immense “pressure to be a perfect wife“. As a young woman getting married in the generation where social media has taken over, it’s easy to understand why Brighton is obsessing over all the “picture perfect” wives she sees on Instagram or Pintrest.

“They are adventurous and stylish and cooking all. The. Time. And they work out with their husbands and bottom line – they’ve just got it going on, or so it seems,” she writes. “I want to be that for my husband because I think he deserves that (because he is pretty incredible) but I know I can’t. I know I will never measure up to this “perfect wife.” I thought to myself, I wasn’t ready to get married because I wasn’t gonna measure up to what a wife was suppose to be.”

She also tells a story about when she was told that one of the most important things in her marriage would be cooking. At the time, she didn’t know how to cook, so this completely upset her! 

“I went to Reed crying because I felt like I wasn’t going to be a good enough wife for him and I wasn’t going to meet his expectations,” she said.

Reed, like the amazing man he is, assured her that he will love her if she knows how to cook or not. He’s marrying her for her heart.
