Country superstar Keith Urban has built himself quite a reputation for giving away guitars to fans at his shows.

Beth, a mother and Keith Urban super fan, encouraged her seventh grader to make a sign to hold up in the audience at his Camden concert in hopes that he may score a guitar of his own.

“I’ve always wanted to play electric guitar,” Beth’s son [whose name has been omitted at his mother’s request] tells the Delaware State News. “I thought maybe I had a chance that he would give me one of his since he gives one away at every show.”

The boy says he couldn’t sleep the night before the concert trying to figure out what to write on the sign. The middle-schooler decided on a bright eye-catching neon green sign with a simple “Hi Mr. Keith. I’m just learning to play guitar” written on it. The boy’s masterpiece was complete with a smiley face as well as a hand drawn guitar.

The sign proved to be a success and Urban stopped mid-performance after spotting the sign and quickly handed over the very guitar he was playing on to his young fan who was being held up on the shoulders of a fellow concert goer who volunteered to help with the family’s cause.

“I want to say thank you or hug him for that…I couldn’t stop crying happy tears,” Beth tells the Independent Journal Review

What a lucky little boy! You can watch it all go down in the video below and be sure to let us know what you think about Urban’s gesture in the comments below!
