Keith & Nicole Help Each Other Learn & Grow
It seems that marital learning curves are inevitable, even for country superstar Keith Urban and wife Nicole Kidman. Upon celebrating a ten years of marriage in 2016, Urban spoke to People about what has made Kidman his “everything“.

“Because of her, if I open up, every day, I’m listening and growing and learning. If I’m a better man, it’s because of her,” he said.
However, it wasn’t always a smooth ride down a country backroad for these two. Urban also opened up about certain “learning curves” that both he and Kidman were faced with very early on in their marriage.
Not Always An Easy Road
Back in October of 2006, just months after he married Kidman, Urban checked himself into a rehabilitation center per her request. While this period stood as a clear obstacle for the couple, it was only a few months before Urban successfully completed rehab.
Fast forward to today, and this dynamic duo now has two beautiful daughters and a marriage anyone would be proud of.

Urban’s album Ripcord contains a song that was inspired directly by Kidman herself, called “The Fighter.”
“A lot of those really simple, tough lines in ‘The Fighter’ are straight from early in my relationship with Nic,” he explained.
Putting Pain & Passion To Music
Elaborating, Urban revealed how the now-familiar lyrics of “The Fighter” apply to his relationship with Kidman, in both the good and bad times:
“When she’d get scared, I’d think she was angry; then I’d get defensive, go tearing out the driveway at 90 miles an hour. And that’s when it all gets pear-shaped. What she needs, and it’s in the song, is for me to stay, to be close, to hear her.”

Originally a duet with country superstar Carrie Underwood, Urban also performed “The Fighter” in a comical lip sync duet with wife Kidman at his side. The video went viral within days, successfully capturing the bond between the two of them that Urban so clearly spoke about during his interview.
If you haven’t seen it yet, we highly suggest you do! We just can’t get enough of these two!
