Kelsea Ballerini completely broke down on stage at her Detroit show during a performance of her heartbreaking song “Peter Pan” Sept. 15. The 23-year-old country singer couldn’t contain her emotions and sobbed through much of the last half of the performance.

A few days earlier on Sept. 12, Ballerini celebrated not only her 23rd birthday but also making history with her latest single “Peter Pan.” The country singer became the first female country music artist to have three consecutive singles to hit No.1 off a debut album.

Ballerini later tweeted that she was feeling “emotional” about everything and thanked everyone for all the love.

With emotions running already running high before taking the Detroit stage, Ballerini collapses in a puddle of emotion while singing the song she wrote during a sad time of her life that is now making her the happiest she’s ever been. Ballerini struggled to compose herself as she wiped away tears eventually gesturing the microphone towards the crowd for them to finish up the song.

Once off stage, the country singer tweeted “Bawled my way through Peter Pan tonight onstage. Wish I could go back & tell my 12 year old self this would be my life. Grateful and humbled.”

Ballerini is wrapping up her tour with Rascal Flatts and is set for her very own headlining tour, The First Time, beginning in November. Watch her emotional moment in the video below and let us know what you think in the comments!
