Kenny Chesney Opens Up To Fans About Relationships

The longtime country favorite reveals to fans how he went through a rough time and the difficulty of love.

During an Alabama concert earlier this year, Kenny Chesney began talking to his massive audience as a soft tune trickled in behind his voice.

He wasn’t talking about a song, or music in general, but instead started talking about the tumultuous and sometimes volatile nature that comes with love and relationships.

Not only did he acknowledge how they can affect people in such a horrible way, but he admitted that he endured the same thing as well.

“I was going through not the most fun time in my life,” he began. “Because relationships and love can just…be…hard.”

Chesney, himself, went through a very difficult time with his own experience of love and breakups during his marriage in the early 2000s to actress Renee Zellweger.

“When you break up, you don’t break up once. You break up over time. And sometimes in the process of breaking up over time, you don’t necessarily want to move on to something new yet, So what do we do?” he continued.

And anyone who’s ever been through a tough relationship can see exactly where he’s coming from. But he wasn’t done there. He wanted to bring his music full circle and help heal some broken hearts the only way he knew how – with music!

“We kinda go back to what’s comfortable,” Chesney added. “And it’s enough to really confuse you – drive you crazy. It’s enough to frustrate you. Do we have any frustrated people out there?”

The backup vocalists and band played through some beautiful music and riffs as Chesney raised his hands high, praying, and just absorbing the music.
