If any country artist knows how to make a good line dance song, it’s Kenny Chesney. Country fans can often be seen kicking up their heels to one of Chesney’s tunes, especially big hits like “She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy” and “When The Sun Goes Down.”
Another Chesney song to earn the line dance treatment is his 2014 single, “American Kids.” A peppy, feel-good tune, “American Kids” caught on quickly and managed to secure the top spot on the Country Airplay chart.
Since the song is so much fun to listen to, the Country-Rock Dancers felt inspired to craft a routine to it. This line dance team proves that country music is worldwide, because they’re from France!
The group features a bunch of country girls and guys of all ages. This shows that anyone is capable of learning their routine to “American Kids,” which is energetic, but simple. No complicated footwork here!
There are plenty of kicks, spins, and toe taps, but nothing too wild. The hardest part of the dance has to be the pace. Once you practice the moves a few times, you should have everything down by the end.
If you want some more personalized instruction, you’re in luck. There’s a short portion at the end of the video where the choreographer breaks down all of the steps. You’ll definitely get the hang of it after that.
But before you lace up your own dancing shoes, you may want to sit and watch the entire video first. The Country-Rock Dancers really strut their stuff in this dance, and they’re a blast to watch!
Go ahead and tune in below to watch the line dance to “American Kids.” Give it a shot, then let us know how you like it!
