In 2016, Blake Shelton released his most honest album of his his career. Appropriately titled If I’m Honest, the album hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums charts just a couple weeks after its May 20 release.
The album includes hit singles “Came Here To Forget”, “Go Ahead and Break My Heart”, “A Guy With A Girl” and “Every Time I Hear That Song” as well as the gospel song “Savior’s Shadow”, which has been called a “huge creative departure” from his previous work.
Shelton revealed on Twitter about his inspiration of the song, which he co-wrote.
“I dreamed the song last summer,” he wrote on April 8, 2016. “I woke up and wrote down everything I could remember.”
The song resonated with Christian audiences and went on to become a Top 5 hit on Billboard’s Christian charts. Someone else that the song spoke to is 4-year-old Luandre.
Apparently, he is a huge Blake Shelton fan, and especially loves the song “Savior’s Shadow”. Even though English is not his first language, he sings every lyric perfectly!
We love that this little guy loves Blake so much, and especially this song. Watch the super cute video below.
