Loretta Lynn Blushes During Sweet Birthday Serenade From ‘Closest Friend In Country Music’

April 14 was a special night at the Grand Ole Opry. Not only did fans in attendance watch an incredible show filled with amazing talent, they were also on hand to celebrate the legendary Loretta Lynn’s 85th birthday!

The audience sang Lynn “Happy Birthday” two times throughout the night, once with a very special guest taking the lead. Martina McBride brought Lynn a bouquet of flowers and led the audience in a sweet birthday song, which had her blushing and smiling from ear to ear.

Lynn then referred to McBride as “my closest friend in country music” and asked her to stay onstage to sing a couple songs with her. Of course, McBride agreed, and they performed Lynn’s hit “You Ain’t Woman Enough (To Take My Man)” and “I Saw The Light”.

McBride later took to Instagram to express her feelings about the special night, calling Lynn “a trailblazer, original, one-of-a-kind living legend…it blows me away that she calls me her friend.
