Emmy Rose Russell, granddaughter to country music legend Loretta Lynn, debuted an original tribute to her “Memaw” back in March of 2015 for a very endearing crowd. Perched next to her (always) extravagantly dressed grandmother, Emmy introduces her self-written melody, “Memaw’s Guitar” and gracefully transitions into her heartwarming tribute.

Emmy, through her incredible vocal talent, musically conveys a story of a little girl who is following in her grandmother’s fabulous footsteps. While this serenade is presumably a first hand experience in Emmy’s life that she’s chosen to express, she vividly depicts a variety of raw emotions and authentic memories.

Throughout the duration of the performance, Lynn’s eyes remain locked on her gifted granddaughter, hinting a senses of pride in her prominent influence that is presented in Emmy’s music.

Upon the completion of the moving performance, Lynn breaks into an applause that continues throughout the venue.

It’s clear in this heartwarming performance that Emmy not only posses the motivation to live up to her grandmother’s name, but the raw talent, as well.
