The country duo Love and Theft, who are responsible for moving millions of people to tears with their powerful ballad “Whiskey On My Breath” have just released an equally compelling song titled “Love Wins”.

The three verse song tells an equal amount of stories – someone who is being pushed over the edge and needs a savior, a couple falling back in love after contemplating divorce, and teaching kids to look beyond appearances.

Written just a few weeks before its March 11 release, “Love Wins” has already impacted many lives because of its incredible message and is getting significant Grammy buzz for next year.

“To see the life and energy it has taken in that short time…is unlike anything I’ve been a part of in my 11 years here in Nashville,” said Stephen Barker Liles regarding their new song. “We are excited to put out ‘Love Wins’ because of how much it means to us and our families and because we hope this song will have a lasting impact on the hearts of everyone who hears it.”

Liles also adds that they wrote the song as a reminder to themselves to be “better dads, better husbands, and just better humans.”

The song hits home for the singers, especially Eric Gunderson, who has struggled with alcoholism for most of his adult life.

“I will have been sober for two years in a couple of weeks,” he said. “If it weren’t for the love that my friends and family have shown me, I’m not sure that I would still be here. Love really does win.”

Gunderson and Liles co-wrote the inspiring tune with Tyler Cain and Jason Blaine, who then told Storme Warren, the host of Sirius XM’s radio show The Highway, about the concept behind the song. Warren loved the idea of “Love Wins” so much that he threatened to play their unfinished demo on the air for The Highway’s millions of listeners if they didn’t get into the recording studio and finish it.

We suppose we have Storme to thank for getting this song out to the public quicker than expected!
