Lukas Nelson Sounds Just Like His Father In Magical ‘Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain’ Cover

Because his show at Las Colonias Park Amphitheater was cancelled due to “inclement weather,” Lukas Nelson decided to still perform for his fans – via YouTube.

Explaining that the rain and lightning just became too much for him and his band, Promise of The Real, to perform safely, he sincerely apologized for having to cancel the show.

To make up for not being able to play a full set for a big crowd, Lukas sat down on the stage and performed his legendary father’s hit song “Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain”, in honor of the rain he was experiencing.

The iconic song “Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain” was included on Willie Nelson’s 1975 album Red Headed Stanger, and became his very first No. 1 hit as a singer. It ended up being the third biggest song that year and is included on Rolling Stone‘s list of the 500 Greatest Songs Of All Time.

The second Lukas begins singing, we get flashbacks to when we first heard Willie Nelson’s version back in the day. Their voices are so eerily similar that it makes you do a double take to make sure that Willie himself isn’t the one performing.
