Country music stars Luke Bryan and Cole Swindell paid tribute to the great Eddie Rabbitt with a rocking cover of the late singer’s “I Love a Rainy Night” at the 2016 ACM Honors show.

The always charming Luke Bryan kicked off the performance with the opening verse “I love a rainy night…You know it makes me feel good,” followed by his signature smirk that surely got all the ladies screaming. Swindell joins in taking over the second verse before the pair sings the catch chorus.

The country singers maintain the classic rock-a-billy feel of the original while also adding a bit of their country flare to the song. Bryan and Swindell’s high-energy performance honors the great Eddie Rabbit perfectly.

“I Love a Rainy Night” was released in November 1980 as the second single of his album Horizon at the peak of Rabbitt’s success as a cross-over artist reaching No.1 on Billboard’s all genre Hot 100 shortly after its release. The song has since been featured frequently in pop-culture including the video game series Grand Theft Auto, television show Family Guy, as well as animated feature film Alvin and the Chipmunks: Urban Chipmunk.
