Luke Bryan Makes Special Country Fan’s Wildest Dream Come True

One of the great things about country music is that it can appeal to people of all ages. There are country fans out there of all ages, from nine to 99. 

Oftentimes the youngest country fans are some of the most enthusiastic. They all have their favorite artists, and dream of one day being able to see them in concert.

For nine-year-old Addi Keegan, that artist is Luke Bryan. It has been the little girl’s wildest dream to be able to see one of his shows. However, it didn’t always seem possible for that dream to become a reality.

Keegan has been fighting a battle against cancer since she was two years old. She has an aggressive brain tumor, and has undergone endless rounds of chemotherapy, radiation, surgeries, and clinical trials. 

Keegan was at home on hospice a week before Bryan was set to perform at a show in her hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. The non-profit A Special Wish Cleveland wanted to grant her wish of being able to see Bryan’s show, but at that point it just didn’t seem possible for her.

Instead, A Special Wish Cleveland arranged it so that Keegan could have a personal concert in her backyard. Local country band Country Redford was invited to come and play for Keegan, and they sang all of Bryan’s biggest hits. Keegan was happy with the show, but of course it wasn’t the same as being able to see Bryan perform his songs himself.

Keegan eventually got to feeling well enough to be able to go to Bryan’s show. A Special Wish Cleveland arranged transportation to the venue for Keegan and her family, who got to watch the concert from their own private box.

The best part came before the show, when Bryan took time out of his day to come meet Keegan and her family. Bryan knelt down to interact with the little girl, who couldn’t stop smiling as she chatted with him. We think it goes without saying that he made her night right there!

But that wasn’t all that Bryan had in store. During the concert, he offered Keegan a special shoutout before moving into his song “Play It Again.” The reason why he mentioned Keegan in that moment? Because “Play It Again” is her favorite song of his.
