Luke Bryan Slings Insults At An Unknowing Blake Shelton

When Luke Bryan signed on to be a judge for ABC’s reboot of American Idol in 2018, , the only person that was more excited than he was, was Blake Shelton.
Shelton, who is a longtime coach on Idol‘s rival show The Voice, was ecstatic for his buddy because now he gets to experience the wonderful world of TV. While promoting the show’s Season 1 premiere, Bryan stopped by Late Night with Seth Meyers to talk all things Idol and country music.

One of the first questions Meyers asked the “What Makes You Country” singer was if he reached out to Shelton, who has several years of television experience under his belt.
“Sadly I did, I don’t know why,” he responded. “I would recommend to never reach out to him.”
Bryan then brought up Shelton’s then-Sexiest Man Alive title, to which Meyers asked how the country community reacted to that.

“We were quite perplexed, but we got over it,” Bryan said with a laugh.
He couldn’t resist getting one more dig in, though!
“No, he is a beautiful man…from a distance,” he joked.
Even though these two always give each other a hard time, they have a great friendship!
