Luke Bryan Speaks About Raising His Nephew After Brother-in-Law’s Tragic Death

Country music star Luke Bryan “uncool”? No way! However, in an interview with PEOPLE, Bryan admitted, “I’m spiraling toward more and more uncool as a dad now.”

Bryan, who is notorious for his booty shakin’ dance moves and comical concert routines, admits that the newest addition to their southern family, Til, has been teaching the family the latest moves!

“What is it? The Dab and all that. And the Nae Nae. He teaches them all that. They’re out there in the yard doing that when they score a touchdown.”

Til is the son of Bryan’s sister and brother-in-law, both of whom have tragically passed away, ultimately leaving behind their three children. The 14-year-old, who Bryan claims is already taller than himself, has since settled down in Nashville with his superstar uncle and larger than life family, while Bryan had also helped care for Til’s two older sisters, Kris and Jordan.

“We woke up and had a teenager in our midst, but we love it,” Bryan told PEOPLE

Bryan and his wife, seeing that their biological children Bo (8 years) and Tate (6 years) are far from the teenage phase, have had quite the learning experience since their new endeavor of raising a teen! Bryan explains, “We’re having to watch grades and watch Instagram and Snap Chat and keep him from being on that all day long.”

The couple sure seem to have the basics down! He continued on to give readers a very wise, and hilarious, piece of advice.

“Don’t wrestle a teen! He throws me around the house pretty good now! He’s taller than me now and he can chuck me around pretty easily.”

Great tip! We’re elated to see the happy family doing so well and embracing this unexpected journey.

Bryan’s EP “Here’s To The Farmer” is currently the latest buzz for this cowboy’s doting fans! Be sure to watch the touching music video for his debuting song on the EP!
