Debuting in late 1970, Lynn Anderson‘s soon-to-become signature hit, “I Beg Your Pardon, I Never Promised You A Rose Garden”, rose quickly to the top of the charts in the U.S. and in an instant it jumped across the pond and sparked a wildfire-like frenzy on the charts worldwide. 

Not only did Anderson’s iconic hit song dominate country music radio, but it crossed over and surpassed most songs appearing on the pop charts as well. This song quickly became one of the biggest hits of the decade – no matter the genre.
