Mel & Pam Tillis Melt Hearts With Their Touching Performance Of ‘Waiting On The Wind’

Pam and Mel Tillis raise the bar for father-daughter power duos in their performance of Pam’s country classic “Waiting on the Wind.”

“You know dad, this night wouldn’t be complete without us doing this song together,” she says as she invites her father, a country legend in his own right to join her on stage at the Grand Ole Opry.

“The time comes when a young girl wants to leave the nest and fly,” sings Mel to his daughter. “I stood there sad and proud and smiled through tears and said goodbye.”

“Whatever strength you find in me I thank my father for,” Pam sings back to her father. “His wisdom, faith and courage set me on a steady course.”

The duet will surely guilt girls across that nation into calling their fathers (and vice versa). The song is the last track on Pam’s seventh studio album, Thunder and Roses, and reached No. 24 on U.S. Billboard Top Country Albums.
