Merle Haggard’s Legacy Kept Alive Through Son’s Breathtaking Talent

“Like father like son”.

Last month, Ben Haggard, son of country music legend Merle Haggard, uploaded a personal recording to his private Youtube account that brought viewers to tears. 

Singing one of his father’s masterpieces, “If I Could Only Fly”, a very sentimental Ben delivers a touching performance that is downright brimful with talent and raw emotion. We are utterly convinced that if southern angels could sing, they would sound exactly like Ben. 

Country music icon Merle Haggard passed away earlier this April after a diligent course of unexpected health struggles. However, through Ben’s undeniable talent and channeling of his father’s unique style, Merle continues to live on and help create a legacy for his son similar to the one that he so eagerly created for himself.

Although Ben will have some big cowboy boots to fill, there is no doubt in our minds that they’ll fit him just right.
