Conway Twitty is definitely one proud papa.

When he passed away in 1993, Conway left quite the legacy behind, which his children have worked diligently to keep alive. His son Michael, in particular, never shies away from performing his father’s biggest hits, and sometimes even performs with Conway’s duet partner, Loretta Lynn!

While this video is not a duet with Loretta, it was performed at her ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee over 4th of July weekend in 2014. Taking the stage with the confidence of his father, Michael sang “It’s Only Make Believe,” Conway’s very first number one hit.

Conway wrote “It’s Only Make Believe” with Jack Nance in between sets while playing at the Flamingo Lounge in Ontario. Even though it took almost a full year to reach the number one spot on the charts, it stayed there for a while and also went number one in 21 other countries!

Although no one can replace his legendary father, Michael works extremely hard to preserve Conway’s legacy and performing his songs is the best way to do so.
