Mike Fisher Gushing Over Carrie Underwood’s ACM Performance Will Leave You Going ‘Aw…’
on Apr 16, 2018
If you tuned in to the ACM Awards on Sunday night (April 15), then you understand exactly what we mean when we say that Carrie Underwood stole the show.
Underwood’s performance was undoubtedly the most anticipated one of the night. That’s because it was her first live performance after spending several months out of the spotlight as she recovered from her November fall.
Prior to the awards, it was announced that Underwood would be singing a brand-new single, titled “Cry Pretty.” The song was released a few days in advance, and was soon celebrated by all who heard it.
Listeners praised Underwood for her performance in the song, noting how it pushed her limits as a vocalist and had her singing some sky-high notes. Her roles as co-writer and co-producer on the song make her connection to it even stronger, thus enhancing her vocal performance.
It was a performance that Underwood was able to replicate perfectly when she debuted the song live at the ACM Awards. Wearing a sparkly dress and glitter makeup “tears,” Underwood poured every ounce of her being into her performance.
The crowd was silent as she sang, watching her in total awe and admiration. Once she finished, a visibly emotional Underwood stood on stage and soaked in all the love she got during a standing ovation that lasted 29 seconds.
‘Cry Pretty’ is a terrific song, and Carrie soared on those vocals. Glad she’s back, and glad to see the country community is so visibly thrilled to have her there. #ACMawards

While many of Underwood’s fellow artists and fans flocked to praise her performance, everyone was waiting for one specific person to react…Underwood’s husband, Mike Fisher.
Not long after Underwood left the stage, Fisher took to Twitter to gush about her performance. What he had to say will leave you saying “aw” as soon as you read it.
“Well that was beyond amazing!” Fisher wrote. “So proud of you…” Bragging up his wife, Fisher also included the hashtag “#vocalperformanceoftheyear.”

While that isn’t an ACM Award, the Grammys have the Best Country Female Vocal Performance award. We feel Underwood stands a solid shot to win that with “Cry Pretty.”
