Out of Patsy Cline‘s entire catalog of songs, one of the most memorable is her 1961 single “Crazy.” The song was written by Willie Nelson, and was responsible for putting his career into drive.

Cline took “Crazy” to the second spot on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart, making it one of the biggest hits of her career. It was also a crossover success, and snuck into the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 to claim the ninth position on the chart.

Whenever other artists have stopped to pay tribute to Cline, “Crazy” is almost always the song they pick to sing. Everyone from LeAnn Rimes to Lorrie Morgan have offered their take on the tune before. But hands down, Miranda Lambert is one of our favorite artists to hear sing “Crazy.”

Lambert has been covering “Crazy” at her shows for years, and it’s always a crowd-pleaser. Wanting to deliver a heartfelt performance to Cline, Lambert always opts to perform the song acoustically, with a single guitar player accompanying her on stage.

That’s exactly what Lambert did when she sang “Crazy” during her concert in Manchester on August 19, 2017. She kept her performance pretty true to Cline’s, but you could definitely hear her personal touch on the song.

If anything, the performance should give you an even greater appreciation of Lambert’s talent as a singer. Thanks to the acoustic arrangement, there’s nothing to distract you from her voice and how she uses it to tell the song’s story.

Tune in below to watch Lambert sing her tender cover of Cline’s “Crazy.” No wonder why her fans are always pleased when she sings it at her shows.

We love it when modern stars sing the classics, don’t y’all? Which classic country tune should Lambert sing next?
