In the days leading up to opening night of Miranda Lambert’s much anticipated Highway Vagabond Tour, she held a few rehearsal sessions and allowed fans to attend one so she and her band could get the feel of the audience.

She took the stage at Joe’s Bar in Chicago, Illinois to perform her hit songs, as well as some from her new album that she has never sung in front of a live audience before, including her very personal ballad “Tin Man.”

“I wasn’t going to do this, so I’m just trying to work it out. Thanks for being here for rehearsals. That was terrifying,” she said. “I’ve never sang this song in front of people so I don’t really know if it’s going to work out. I really appreciate y’all and putting up with my s**t tonight.

A couple minutes into “Tin Man,” Lambert stopped playing her guitar and singing to address the audience.

“I hear talking. I’m like literally out here with my diary for y’all to read,” she told the crowd. “Sorry.”

She pointed to the fans just in front of her and said, “Y’all weren’t talking.”

Lambert then continued the personal song and received more than the audience’s full attention. They began singing along.
