Blake Earns A Steamy Title

The internet, and especially the country music community, started buzzing as soon as People made a big announcement in 2017. As they’ve done each year for some time now, People named the celebrity they picked to be the “Sexiest Man Alive” for the year.

The celebrity turned out to be Blake Shelton!

As you would expect from Shelton, he instantly took to Twitter to celebrate the news. Based on his tweets, it’s pretty obvious that he was enjoying his title! Just take these as a couple of examples…

Not Everyone Was Happy

But while Shelton’s fans and fellow artists were all happy for him, the larger public was less than pleased with the news. Social media lit up with people sharing their disappointment over Shelton’s being chosen as the Sexiest Man Alive.

Many of these people offered up their personal picks for the title, naming popular actors such as Idris Elba and Chris Evans.

Of course, country fans also had some opinions about Shelton’s new title. Many suggested other country stars who would have been worthy of the title, and it makes sense that Tim McGraw‘s name came up more than a time or two.

Tim Rattles Off Tweets Championing Him For The Title

So when McGraw and Faith Hill appeared on the Ty, Kelly & Chuck radio show, the hosts knew they had to have McGraw read some tweets that were championing him as the Sexiest Man Alive over Shelton. The show uploaded a short clip of what unfolded once McGraw began reading the tweets, and it’s quite comical.

The first tweet McGraw read also promoted George Strait as a potential candidate for Sexiest Man Alive, and McGraw approved. Part of the tweet read, “We know that nobody holds a candle to George Strait or Tim McGraw. So how about we redo the ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ thing?”

Tim Agrees With The Blake Pick & So Does Faith

McGraw and Hill got a good laugh out of that, but they both agreed that Shelton is more than deserving of his sexy title.

“I think Blake’s pretty sexy,” McGraw remarked. Hill echoed his statement, saying, “He’s got an incredible sense of humor, and that’s sexy actually, it is.”

We have to agree with Hill! Though we’ve got to say, McGraw would certainly be a suitable choice for the title another year!
