Nicole Kidman Reveals The Hilarious Things Keith Urban’s Friends Text Her

She’s one of the finest actresses in Hollywood. He’s one of the biggest names in Nashville. Together, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban are one of America’s favorite power couples. The Australian actress met up with talk show host Ellen DeGeneres to discuss everything from her bizarre clapping at the 2017 Academy Awards, turning 50, and the funny things Urban’s friends text her.

Teaming up with her fellow Oscar-winning actress Reese Witherspoon, the two actresses produced HBO’s Big Little Lies. The mini series that follows the complex lives of wealthy housewives in Monterey Bay, California is currently one of the hottest shows on television. However, to Kidman’s admission, the show wasn’t an immediate hit. 

“When it first came out I remember calling and going ‘Oh, I was hoping it would be a little more successful,'” shared Kidman. “And then it just started to snowball. And the great thing was because it was on HBO everyone had to wait each week to see the next step.”

Seeing as just about everyone was tuning in each week to see what would happen next on the television drama, were Urban’s country singer friends watching? 

“Then I was suddenly being recognized in airports and on airplanes, and women were coming up to me in the street…I was getting texts from Keith’s friends!” said Kidman. “People were saying ‘We’re staying in Sunday night, ordering pizza, and putting the kids to bed, we can’t wait to watch!’ And then I thought ‘Wow this is working.’ It was amazing.”

Glad to hear all her hard work paid off! Fans of the show have recently started a campaign for the talented actress to receive a well-deserved Emmy for her portrayal of the complex character Celeste Wright, a woman trapped in an abusive marriage.
