Reba McEntire Puts Country Spin On Gospel Tune For New Album

If you grew up going to church, there is a huge chance you know every word to this song by heart. As church-goers ourselves, we can appreciate any variation of this song whether it be in the film Sister Act 2, at church, or even better, on a brand new album.

Country legend Reba McEntire shocked the world when she announced her next project would be a gospel album, but to be honest, we all shouldn’t be surprised. She is very spiritual, and speaks about her faith openly. A gospel album was just bound to happen, and we’re so glad she’s finally doing it! Sing It Now: Songs of Faith & Hope will be released on February 3 and will include 10 of her favorite hymns, as well as 10 original songs.

Thankfully, every couple weeks since her big announcement, McEntire has released a lyric video, revealing a song on the new album, and this week, she released one for “Oh Happy Day”!

Accompanied by an image of a dirt road, McEntire’s country version of the tune will likely get you swaying back and forth to the beat. When the choir joins her for the chorus, your breath will be taken away. We know ours was!

Take a listen to her version of “Oh Happy Day” below.
