Country music legend Patsy Montana takes the stage at the age of 77 for a live performance of her signature song “I Want to be a Cowboy’s Sweetheart” back in 1986.

“And the first woman in country western to have a million seller…Patsy Montana!” says the announcer to introduce Patsy as she takes the stage.

She starts off her performance with a series of enthusiastic “yodels” before transitioning into her country classic. While her performance was short, Patsy charmed the crowd into a wild round of applause.

“I Want to be a Cowboy’s Sweetheart” was recorded in 1935 by Montana and was the first country song by a female artist to sell more than one million copies. Montana wrote the song the year prior when she was lonely and missing her boyfriend.
